Open System Testing Architecture (OpenSTA) is an open source toolset for load or stress testing, and is based on the CORBA architecture. This toolset was created primarily for technically proficient individuals who have a working knowledge of HTTP and the test environment. Test scripts are recorded in a browser, then edited with a high level scripting language. OpenSTA is primarily a web testing tool, but other testing options can be instrumented by extending into tools we have built.

OpenSTA has less emphasis on generating data, compared with the other tools AE uses, and more emphasis on the skill and observation of the tester. AE’s integration with IronPython allows functional unit testing resources to be run in load testing tools such as OpenSTA, LoadRunner, and JMeter.
